Sneak peek on upcoming summer!

Lisatud: 21.04 2010

Few days ago a dude named Sander Seppel came up to me before a game in Tallinn and asked if he could ask couple of Q’s from me about Ei, Emotsioon and the upcoming summer. I told him it’s my pleasure. So the night after we sat down with Marko & Erik. Originally this interview was in Estonian, but since we are proud to have such fans as Jeff, who took time to translate it and with a little modification by myself, we can bring it exclusively to you all!

So here it is!

Name Anthony Enden
Team Ei, Emotsioon

Before summer thought of finding out, what are the plans for the summer? Questions where answered by Anthony, with a little bit of help from 99% and Marko. By reading this you get answers for such questions like is Ei, Emotsioon going to Denmark, do we get to see new mixtape, do we see new members joining and much more. Surely worth reading.

Surely thoughts are already in the summer and streetball. Which do you like more, playing basketball inside during winter season or summer streetball?
Hello. Honestly I can not cast my vote either way. Both have their allure and sweet spots. I have played with many teams over the past couple winter seasons and haven’t found that ideal one, so I would have to lean towards summer and  Ei, Emotsioon. This feeling and teamplay, understanding each other, all the trips and what happens on them – it is indescribable. That is why I have to choose summer.
Have Ei, Emotsioon thought about where are you going to participate? Do you have the urge to go play abroad?
Denmark, Denmark, Denmark! We did not get a chance to participate there last year and really waiting forward to it, and preparing for it. Tournament and CPH itself made a really good expression, it attracts to go back. In Estonia at least couple of 3on3 streetball stops, hope 5on5 tournament becomes a reality. If not we take on any challenge to play 5on5, whoever wants to play with us. The main challenge going abroad is finances, if anyone wants to support Ei, Emotsioon we are always ready to go and do our best.
What are the goals for this summer?
Going on a court to enjoy the game. Of course main goal is to win, but the best feelings are supplied by the supporters, audience like’s our style. Last summer during our games the courtsides where filled with people, this surely gives a power boost. It doesn’t matter if they’re fans or haters, the sweetest thing is to prove thus hater what are you capable of.
Does team have some new members or is anyone left?
After last Denmark trip THD aka Juri Larionov joined “officialy” the team, for all streetball lovers he is a legend. Another secret weapon hasn’t decided yet, but since he has represented us once before and our uniform is hanging in his closet, we hope he answers positively. Before his decision I am not going to disclose a name, but most probably know whom I am talking about.
Is it possible that during the summer someone off the street could join?
If somebody good makes an expression, why not. But the level of the players already in team is high and making it a way into our team wouldn’t be a walk-in-a-park. The climate in the team is supper, everyone is really tight outside the team, so if you join the team you need to make your way into a circle of friends that’s always risky, either you fit or not.
Let’s go back in time, how did the Ei, Emotsioon get started?
This beautiful thing started back in 2005, Erik and Mirko where playing ball in Erka … the rest is history. Just for laugh I will publish the webpage where story of beginning is described in rather unorthodox way – www.hot.ee/noemotions/ (in Estonian unfortunately)
Let’s look forward now what are the plans for more distant future for Ei, Emotsioon?
To put it in Erik’s words “we would play but Abraham wouldn’t give a shitload of cash!” (quote from one of his favorite Estonian rapper’s lyrics). A lot of things have been cancelled because of the lack of money, even though most times we’ve managed to find some cash or get a good deal. At the moment we are satisfied with what we have now. If we get an opportunity to participate in some league we would do it, but until then we do our thing.
Do we get to see a new mixtape this year?
Sure you will, but we are not going to make longer than 1-2 minute clips out of our Estonian games. But since we have a definite plant to go to Denmark, I can get your hopes up for another great CPH mixtape. Yesterday took place Sprite streetball commercial shoots, where four of our guys also participated. We had our own cameraman capturing behind the scenes footage, so we’ll do our best to put something out of it on our website.
What’s up with the fan gear? Is it still available?
Of course it’s available, visit www.eiemotsioon.net and you’ll find the right heading, there’s information on fan gear and ordering. Soon we’ll come up with new stuff, in near future we’ll feed you with fresh info on that. Everything about ordering is on that site, we will order the staff as soon as we get enough orders.
Any word for the fans?
Marko said it best “Come and see!” Follow us on the web and in twitter – yep we tweet too, as a team and many players individually! See you on the court!
